As Independence Day nears, city planners in Los Angeles are perfecting their plans for extravagant, over-the-top fireworks displays. A number of stadiums, resorts, and parties are planning to light up the sky with patriotic displays. Currently, The Weather Channel is forecasting that the evening of the Fourth will be clear with only a small chance of adverse weather. However, if rain showers do cross the skies, there are a variety of spots you can visit to try and avoid the clouds. Regardless, Los Angeles will still be a home to awe-inspiring fireworks displays.
One such will be at the Dodgers Stadium. Dodgers fans can enjoy both a competitive game against the San Diego Padres as well as a fireworks event which kicks off in the early dusk. Tickets for the game are only $32, and many are still available.
With the promise to “Ignite the Night,” Fairplex is hosting their annual KABOOM! The event which is packed with quad wars, monster trucks, freestyle Moto X racing, and fireworks. Tickets for the event are only $18.50, and visitors can join in with patriotic-themed events as well as an hour of Moto X racing.
One of the most unique fireworks display in the entire country occurs at Disneyland Park, and this year is sure to be packed with even more surprises. Guests who are hoping for the best views are encouraged to visit the park early in the day and find a spot near Main Street Train Station, Central Plaza, or in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Advertising their event as a “July 4th Fireworks Spectacular,” the Hollywood Bowl will be holding three events on three evenings over the course of July 2, 3, and 4. The Los Angeles Philharmonic and Nile Rodgers have both been scheduled to perform as well as a special appearance by the DRUMLine Live.
As for LA’s Grand Park, they will be hosting a free “4th of July Block Party” that lasts the entire afternoon and well into the night when they will be lighting up the sky with fireworks. Organizers have claimed that their fireworks display will launch them nearly 500 feet high. The event will be family-friendly, alcohol-free, and it will feature performances from a number of bands. As an added bonus, a 75-foot Ferris wheel will be on-site for visitors to ride!
This year, the Rose Bowl stadium will be hosting their 93rd annual “AMERICAFEST” celebration. Fireworks will begin at 9.00 p.m. PT, and organizers have billed it as the “biggest fireworks show in Southern California.” In the hours leading up to the display, guests can party with Disney’s DCappella Live Lion King Performance, SoCal VoCals Live Performance, and TNT Freestyle Motocross.
Universal Studios will also be hosting an Independence Day Celebration featuring characters from Universal’s park. Over the course of the day, park-guests can expect to experience unique, themed character interactions as well as holiday-themed decor.
